Senior Product Manager – Managed Databases (MySQL)

About the role

DigitalOcean is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own the roadmap, development, and execution of its Managed Databases (MySQL) offering. You will work at the intersection of customer needs, market trends, and complex technical execution, shaping product strategy and go‑to‑market plans.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the product roadmap for provisioning, deployment, reliability, performance, and pricing of Managed Databases (MySQL).
• Conduct market analysis on database trends, competitive offerings, and emerging technologies to inform positioning.
• Partner with Engineering, Infrastructure, Capacity Planning, Solutions Architecture, Go‑to‑Market and Customer Success teams to deliver and launch features.
• Gather and prioritize customer feedback to improve provisioning, scaling, and day‑two operations.
• Use data‑driven metrics (utilization, reliability, deployment velocity) to guide strategic decisions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of product management experience with cloud database products, preferably MySQL.
• Deep technical knowledge of relational databases and their use in OLTP and AI/ML workloads.
• Proven record of taking database features from concept to large‑scale deployment.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to resolve obstacles that block value delivery.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and cross‑functional communication skills.
