Senior Manager, People Consultant

About the role

NetApp is looking for a Senior Manager, People Consultant to lead its People Consultant team in APAC and manage complex employee relations, performance management and workplace matters. The role is accountable for regional service delivery, team capability, workload management and case quality, and contributes to the development of the global People Consultant operating model.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the APAC People Consultant team, set priorities, operating rhythms, workload allocation, quality standards and development plans.
• Develop People Consultants through regular case reviews, feedback and development planning.
• Manage the most complex or sensitive employee relations, performance management, workplace conflict and investigation follow-up matters.
• Advise managers on performance concerns, coaching, performance improvement plans, workplace expectations, conflict resolution and difficult conversations.
• Support early resolution of employee and workplace concerns that do not need a formal investigation, including mediation and relationship issues.
• Work with Employment Legal and Investigations on triage, investigation close-out and corrective action, keeping escalations limited to matters needing their authority or expertise.
• Maintain clear handoffs across People Consultants, HR Operations, HR Business Partners, Legal, Investigations and specialist teams.
• Monitor case demand, complexity, capacity, cycle time and escalation patterns to balance workload and ensure timely delivery.
• Use case insights to spot emerging risks and opportunities for manager enablement, policy or process improvements, tools and training.
• Build relationships with business leaders and HR partners and help design workflows, service standards and measures of success.

Required profile

• 8+ years of relevant HR experience, including significant experience in employee relations, performance management, HR business partnership or a comparable people advisory role.
• 4+ years of people management responsibility, developing professionals, managing performance and leading teams on moderately complex, sensitive matters.
• Experience supporting a complex organization in India, with knowledge of local employment practices, cultural considerations and manager needs.
• Experience partnering with Employment Legal, Investigations, HR Operations, HR Business Partners and business leaders.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of employee relations, corrective performance management, workplace conflict, manager coaching and investigation follow-up.
• Ability to interpret policies consistently while accounting for local legal, regulatory and cultural requirements.
• Sound judgment in incomplete or ambiguous situations, balancing multiple risks and stakeholder interests.
• Ability to use case data and workload patterns to improve service delivery and identify root causes.
