Senior Logistics Coordinator

About the role

Emerson is looking for a Senior Logistics Coordinator to join the Project Execution team at its FCEC facility in Chennai. You will support both internal and external customers throughout the shipping, warehousing, and dispatch cycle, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with Order Management, Sales, Finance, and Project Execution teams to manage logistics activities.
• Handle end‑to‑end shipment processes, applying Incoterms from collection to delivery for global suppliers.
• Prepare and release shipping documents, ensuring compliance with destination customs rules to avoid deposits, demurrage, or storage charges.
• Book shipments, prepare Certificates of Origin and attested documents as required by customers and destinations.
• Work closely with Trade Compliance and EHS teams to meet regulatory and safety requirements.
• Generate pre‑alerts, obtain proof of delivery, and follow up on GRN receipts within 24 hours of supplier fulfillment.
• Reconcile price variances, issue invoices within defined timelines, and upload them to customer portals.
• Prepare Letters of Credit, manage CAD shipments, and handle dangerous goods according to procedures.
• Obtain export certificates within 5‑7 days for VAT reconciliation and conduct monthly inventory stock counts.
• Provide backup support to colleagues as needed.

Required profile

• Proven ability to support logistics for multiple projects with varying customer requirements.
• Strong understanding of global logistics processes and a focus on continuous improvement.
• Excellent attention to detail to prevent customs issues and ensure timely documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively across cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Understanding of Incoterms and their practical implications.
• Familiarity with customs regulations and documentation requirements.
• Experience with trade compliance procedures.
• Knowledge of handling dangerous goods (DG) and related safety protocols.
