Senior Java Developer (Backend Services)

About the role

Infrrd is seeking a Senior Java Developer to own and evolve the backend services that power its mortgage document processing platform. You will design high‑throughput pipelines, integrate large language models, and ensure the system remains fast, accurate, and cost‑effective at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Build asynchronous, parallel document pipelines with batching, retries, back‑pressure and idempotent reprocessing.
• Integrate and manage LLM APIs, handling timeouts, token limits, cost controls and automatic failover across providers.
• Implement resilience patterns such as circuit breakers, fallback chains and graceful degradation.
• Debug production issues, investigate latency spikes, extraction failures and cost regressions using dashboards and metrics.
• Mentor junior engineers, review pull requests, break features into clear tasks and author design documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 4+ years of hands‑on Java development, with at least 2 years owning a production service.
• Strong command of core Java, multithreading and concurrent architecture design.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Data, microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (preferably MongoDB) and relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL).
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes and at least one cloud platform (AWS, GCP or Azure).
• Excellent problem‑solving, debugging and written communication skills.
