Senior Design Engineer – Special Purpose Machines

About the role

Quest Global is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead the development of Special Purpose Machines (SPM). The role focuses on advanced machine design, from concept through detailed 3D modeling and documentation, supporting global engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Organise design and verification reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
• Apply advanced engineering design principles to each project activity.
• Create complex 3D sheet‑metal and casting models, assemblies, and detailed 2D drawings of SPMs using SolidWorks.
• Conceptualise and design machines based on specific manufacturing requirements.
• Apply Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure component accuracy.
• Select and integrate bought‑out components such as motors, cylinders, and actuators.
• Report daily progress and potential issues to the Team Leader.
• Conduct internal quality checks to deliver defect‑free designs.
• Coordinate with global engineers using excellent oral and written English.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 + years of experience in machine design / Special Purpose Machines.
• Strong understanding of concept design and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of material properties, selection, and heat‑treatment requirements.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple design tasks.
• Excellent English communication; French proficiency is a plus.
