Senior Data Governance - AI Driven Metadata Management

About the role

Capco is seeking a Senior Data Governance professional to lead AI‑enabled metadata management within the Chief Data Officer’s enterprise data strategy. The role will focus on designing AI prompts, driving metadata initiatives, and ensuring regulatory compliance for banking and financial services clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, test and refine AI prompts to support metadata discovery, classification and control monitoring.
• Define and own the product vision and roadmap for AI‑enabled metadata management, aligning with CDO objectives such as data quality, governance and regulatory compliance.
• Translate business and regulatory requirements into functional specifications and use cases for AI/ML‑driven metadata solutions.
• Engage senior stakeholders across risk, finance, compliance and technology to capture requirements (e.g., BCBS 239 lineage) and promote adoption of metadata practices.
• Define KPIs, dashboards and reporting to monitor metadata quality, completeness and usage.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of metadata management concepts including data lineage, cataloging, business glossary and ownership.
• Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as BCBS 239, Basel III, GDPR and AML.
• Proven ability to influence senior executives, auditors and cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Experience with metadata management platforms.
• Hands‑on knowledge of AI/ML techniques for automated metadata discovery.
• Familiarity with agile product management frameworks (Scrum) and backlog management.
