Senior Data Engineer (Java expertise required)

About the role

The Senior Data Engineer will lead the technical roadmap for the data platform team, mentoring a group of 5‑10 engineers and ensuring high‑quality code and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Define and update the technical roadmap for the data platform over the coming months.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing on design and best practices.
• Design, develop and maintain new features and fix bugs in Java‑based systems.
• Maintain operational excellence, including on‑call duties and production system monitoring.

Required profile

• Based in Bangalore/Bengaluru, India.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on Java development in enterprise projects.
• Strong understanding of dependency injection, unit‑testing frameworks, and Java best‑practice literature (e.g., Effective Java, Java Concurrency in Practice).
• Experience with multi‑threaded programming and the Java memory model.
• Solid Linux system knowledge and performance monitoring.
• Proficiency in SQL and PostgreSQL.
