Senior Calypso Functional QA Analyst

About the role

A leading Australian financial institution is looking for a Senior Quality Analyst to join its Calypso functional QA team in Chennai. The role contributes to test analysis, design and execution of the OTC derivative clearing platform, focusing on end-to-end testing of interest rate and fixed income products, including trade lifecycle validation, settlements and EOD batch processing.

Key responsibilities

• Design, execute and maintain functional, regression and UAT test cases for Calypso.
• Validate end-to-end trade lifecycle for interest rate and fixed income products, covering trade capture, lifecycle events, novations, terminations and clearing flows.
• Test automated trade booking and re-booking, including trade migration and data integrity checks.
• Validate static data, market data inputs, pricing and valuation impacts.
• Test EOD and scheduled-task processing, and verify outputs, reports and extracts.
• Reconcile trades, positions and reports between Calypso and upstream/downstream systems.
• Raise evidence-based defects and drive them through to closure.
• Build and run automated regression packs using CATT where applicable.
• Support test planning, change-request coverage, test summary reports and release sign-off.
• Work with platform engineering on testing the Calypso cloud migration.

Required profile

• 5 to 10 years of overall QA/testing experience in capital markets, with 2 to 3 years on Calypso.
• Strong hands-on functional and configuration knowledge of Calypso.
• Hands-on testing experience in swaps (IRS/OIS/CCS), bond and repo products.
• Proven ability to validate the end-to-end trade lifecycle in Calypso.
• Experience reconciling trades, positions and cash/security between Calypso and downstream systems.
• English at C2 level (proficient).

Required skills

• Knowledge of Calypso objects such as workflows, filters, report templates and task station.
• Testing of schedule tasks and batch execution from tools such as Control-M.
• Solid test design, execution and defect management in release-driven cycles, with root-cause analysis of test failures.
• Nice to have: CATT, AWS, database migration, Jenkins, Linux/Unix, regression comparison tools, and exposure to platforms such as MarkitWire and Bloomberg.
