Senior AI Engineer - Generative AI

About the role

Kantar's Global Data Science and Innovation (DSI) unit, part of its Analytics Practice, is looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join its team in Chennai. The DSI unit handles most of Kantar's AI and generative AI initiatives, including machine learning, computer vision, NLP and optimization, to solve complex marketing analytics and consulting problems. The Senior AI Engineer works hands-on with a cross-functional, geography-agnostic team to build, scale and commercialize AI-led solutions and productionize R&D pilots.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable, efficient AI pipelines and infrastructure for deployment.
• Deploy AI models and solutions into production environments, ensuring stability and performance.
• Maintain deployed AI systems and troubleshoot issues such as performance bottlenecks and failures.
• Optimize deployment processes to reduce latency and improve scalability.
• Implement version control and model management practices.
• Ensure security and compliance of deployed systems with industry standards and regulations.
• Provide technical support and guidance on deployment-related queries.

Required profile

• Advanced degree from a top-tier technical institute in a relevant discipline.
• 4 to 10 years of experience, with at least a few years in Generative AI.
• Past experience building and deploying applications on cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) using serverless architecture.
• Experience with containerization tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes), databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB), deployment tools (e.g. Azure DevOps), big data tools (e.g. Spark) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Agile, RESTful APIs, and preferably LLMs and foundation models from companies such as OpenAI, Google and Anthropic.
• Comfortable working in global, cross-cultural teams and excellent English communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Azure Machine Learning, Amazon SageMaker and Google Cloud AI Platform.
• Hands-on coding in Python.
• Preferred: experience with live deployments.
