Senior Business Intelligence Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to join Cohere Health’s Intelligence team in Hyderabad. The role will drive the design, implementation, and optimization of our analytical infrastructure, enabling scalable, consistent reporting and analytics across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the execution and refinement of the BI and analytics architecture, ensuring performance and scalability of dashboards and self‑service tools.
• Design and implement robust semantic and dimensional data models for operational, clinical, and strategic analytics.
• Collaborate with data platform, analytics, and product teams to define shared data definitions and build source‑of‑truth datasets.
• Establish best practices in dbt modeling, testing, and documentation to improve pipeline efficiency.
• Manage release, quality testing, version control, and promotion of analytics assets across environments.
• Enable analysts to deliver high‑impact Tableau dashboards and KPI frameworks, serving as the primary Tableau Cloud SME.
• Integrate Tableau dashboards into front‑end applications using Tableau APIs (embedding, authentication, filtering, automation).
• Identify and remediate performance bottlenecks in queries, data models, and dashboards.
• Mentor junior engineers and analysts, providing technical guidance and enforcing BI best practices.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics engineering, or data engineering, preferably in healthcare or a regulated data‑rich domain.
• Proven ability to design scalable data models supporting enterprise reporting and ad‑hoc analysis.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience leading small technical teams.

Required skills

• Expert‑level SQL.
• Hands‑on experience with dbt (or similar) and dimensional modeling.
• Deep expertise in Tableau Cloud, Desktop, Prep, and Tableau APIs.
• Experience with AWS‑based data platforms.
• Workflow orchestration using Airflow.
