Senior Business Analyst – Payments

About the role

The Senior Business Analyst will act as the analytical engine and delivery enabler for ANZ's Group Payments Service Line. You will shape clear, end‑to‑end requirements, collaborate with business, operations and technology stakeholders, and ensure that changes are safe, resilient and aligned with the Payments operating model.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end requirements gathering across business, technology, operations, architecture, risk and financial crime.
• Produce high‑quality requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, business rules, data mapping and payment‑flow documentation.
• Ensure requirements align with payment scheme rules, regulatory expectations, operational resilience, control frameworks and enterprise architecture standards.
• Analyse impacts across upstream/downstream services, channels, data flows, settlement processes, reconciliation and support models.
• Drive traceability from business outcomes through requirements, testing and release.
• Support Product Owners and Initiative Leads with backlog refinement, prioritisation and scope shaping.
• Partner with engineers, architects, system analysts, risk, financial crime, compliance and customer teams to ensure feasibility and technical alignment.
• Assist with scheme readiness (SWIFT, cards, domestic payment rails), regulatory uplift and remediation work.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in business analysis within the payments or banking domain.
• Proven ability to gather and translate complex payment flows, regulatory obligations and scheme rules into actionable requirements.
• Strong stakeholder management across business, technology and risk functions.
