Senior Backend Developer

About the role

Datakrew is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join its remote‑first, deep‑tech team focused on real‑time EV battery analytics and diagnostics. You will work on high‑performance server‑side components, data streaming pipelines, and cloud‑native services that power IoT solutions for electric vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain server‑side logic and databases.
• Implement robust APIs (REST and gRPC) to support front‑end applications and external services.
• Design and optimise database schemas and write efficient SQL and NoSQL queries.
• Develop, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
• Set up, configure, and manage cloud services on AWS or Azure for scalable, resilient architectures.
• Containerise applications with Docker and orchestrate them using Kubernetes.
• Implement monitoring solutions with Prometheus and .NET Aspire to ensure application health and performance.
• Collaborate with the team via Git for version control and code reviews.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend development.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and capacity to work both independently and within a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficient in C++ and C#.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and query optimisation.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms AWS and/or Azure.
• Solid knowledge of Docker for containerised deployments.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes for orchestration.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and .NET Aspire.
• Ability to develop and integrate APIs and webhooks using REST and gRPC.
• Proficiency with Git version control.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
