About the role

Senior Auditor at AECOM in Bengaluru, responsible for executing audits, providing advisory support, and ensuring compliance with internal audit standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute assigned audits in line with the annual risk‑based audit plan and IIA standards.
• Lead audit workstreams under supervision and participate in audit planning activities.
• Perform audit testing, including IT General Controls and application controls.
• Obtain and analyze financial and non‑financial data from systems and teams.
• Draft clear, evidence‑based audit findings and assess management action plans.
• Escalate significant risks or control deficiencies to Audit Managers.
• Provide advisory support on finance‑related processes, controls, and system issues.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with senior management while preserving independence.
• Contribute to enterprise‑wide ASG initiatives and share best practices.
• Coach junior auditors and act as a role model for audit quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• 3–5 years of internal audit, public accounting or risk assurance experience.
• Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA), CPA or CIA; certifications such as CISA are desirable.
• Experience with SOX compliance and exposure to IT SOX controls.
• Ability to work in diverse cultures and travel up to 20% internationally.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Attention to detail, professional skepticism and sound judgment.
• Adaptability and willingness to support team development.
