Senior Attorney

About the role

IBM is seeking a Senior Attorney to join its Bangalore Legal Center of Excellence. You will work with a dynamic team of lawyers and support staff, providing legal guidance to IBM’s global lawyers and business units.

Key responsibilities

• Support early‑stage commercial engagements such as direct and indirect distribution, mergers and acquisitions, and related transactions.
• Advise business functions—including procurement, real estate, HR, and finance—on regulatory compliance, contractual disputes, litigation, intellectual property, workplace relations, privacy, and cybersecurity.
• Collaborate across all IBM business units, both transactional and non‑transactional, to ensure consistent legal service delivery.
• Contribute to continuous operational improvement within the Legal CoE.

Required profile

• Qualified to practice law in India.
• Minimum 9 years of legal experience in‑house or at a law firm, or a combination thereof.
• Proven ability to negotiate IT contracts (services, software, cloud) with government and commercial entities.
• Experience handling privacy, cybersecurity, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance matters.
• Demonstrated integrity, ethical conduct, and capacity to work independently with decreasing supervision.
