Senior Applied Value Engineer – AI & Process Intelligence

About the role

As a Senior Applied Value Engineer you will work with Celonis' most strategic customers to translate their AI strategies into concrete, high‑impact solutions. Leveraging the Celonis Process Intelligence platform together with leading AI partners such as Microsoft, OpenAI and Databricks, you will prototype, demonstrate and drive adoption of autonomous AI agents that deliver measurable ROI.

Key responsibilities

• Understand customers' AI strategies and business challenges, then design and prototype innovative AI‑enabled solutions.
• Lead hackathons and proof‑of‑value projects, delivering end‑to‑end architectures that integrate LLMs, RAG, and enterprise data.
• Guide customers through AI adoption, ensuring projects meet agreed value and adoption thresholds.
• Specialize in industry domains (e.g., supply chain, finance) to scale knowledge across the organization.

Required profile

• 6+ years of technical pre‑sales experience, including AI roadmap definition, ROI/TCO business cases and prototyping of ML and generative AI solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related field preferred.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• ML libraries: LangChain, pandas, pydantic, scikit‑learn, PyTorch.
• Generative AI techniques: Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), few‑shot learning, prompt engineering, multi‑agent orchestration, multimodal understanding, fine‑tuning.
• Experience with LLM orchestration, function calling and safety guardrails.
• Cloud AI services: AWS Bedrock, Azure AI, GCP Vertex.
