Senior Android Engineer (Kotlin)

About the role

TellM is building a new category of services for urban households, supported by trained professionals and technology-driven support systems. It is hiring a Senior Android Engineer (Kotlin) in Bengaluru to build its native Android app from scratch, delivering a real-time, AI-driven conversational experience that works across devices and network conditions. The position is full-time and on-site in Indiranagar.

Key responsibilities

• Build TellM's native Android app, a daily-use, real-time app designed to last.
• Make conversation feel instant: streaming replies, voice notes and well-timed notifications.
• Deliver a fast, trustworthy app on a wide range of devices, including low-end ones, despite flaky networks, memory and battery constraints.
• Own features end-to-end, ship with Backend and Design teams, and help shape the roadmap.
• 30-day goal: ship to production with several features merged; 60-day goal: own a major part of the app in customers' hands; 90-day goal: own the craft bar and architecture in your area.

Required profile

• 4 to 8 years building and shipping native Android apps (Kotlin) to the Play Store.
• Experience with real devices and real network conditions.
• Comfortable with real-time data and messaging-style UIs.
• Bonus: built chat, voice or other real-time-heavy apps, worked with AI or streaming responses on mobile, and treats performance on low-end devices as a feature.

The interview process includes a technical discussion and an Android architecture round, followed by a founder discussion. ClanX is the recruitment partner helping TellM hire the engineer.
