Senior Analyst (Correspondent Banking) - Transaction Monitoring

About the role

AML RightSource is recruiting a Senior Analyst (Correspondent Banking) for the First Line of Defence AML Transaction Monitoring team in Noida. The role identifies, reviews and investigates potentially suspicious activity in correspondent banking transactions to protect the bank, its customers and society from financial crime. Depending on skills and experience, the role may sit at different seniority levels within the team.

Key responsibilities

• Review and investigate transaction monitoring alerts across correspondent banking activity, including customer and peer-bank flows.
• Analyse transactions for money laundering, terrorist financing, tax evasion, sanctions, PEP, adverse media and other financial crime risks.
• Assess risk of correspondent banking relationships and transactions using a risk-based approach.
• Investigate red flags such as high-risk jurisdictions, nested banking, structuring, round-dollar or round-tripping payments, trade-based money laundering indicators and PEP-linked transactions.
• Analyse complex transactions using knowledge of SWIFT MT and ISO 20022 message formats.
• Prepare clear, supported case narratives documenting findings, rationale for closure or escalation and recommendations for suspicious activity reporting where required.
• Escalate suspicious or high-risk activity to internal teams, departments or authorities in line with procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and a complete audit trail for all reviews and investigations.
• Collaborate with Client Risk, Compliance, Legal, Sales, Product and Engineering teams to improve data quality, monitoring processes and operating effectiveness.
• Contribute to improving monitoring processes, policies and the operating model, and stay informed on FATF guidance, sanctions updates and emerging financial crime typologies.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in AML, transaction monitoring, financial crime compliance or a similar role, preferably with client activity monitoring.
• Strong understanding of correspondent banking, banking products, transaction flows and transaction analysis.
• Ability to analyse complex datasets, detect anomalies and communicate insights to varied audiences.
• Sound judgement and ability to make risk-based decisions in a fast-paced, multi-directional environment.
• Preferred: professional certifications such as CAMS, CFE or other financial crime compliance certifications, and prior experience in correspondent banking monitoring, sanctions screening, PEP/adverse media review or suspicious activity investigation.

Required skills

• Demonstrated knowledge of payment message formats, including SWIFT MT and ISO 20022.
• Familiarity with transaction monitoring systems and proficiency in data analysis tools or software.
• Strong documentation, case narrative writing and investigation skills.
• Team-oriented, with strong communication, presentation, organisational, planning and time management skills.
