School Helper (Cleaning & Maintenance)

About the role

The School Helper provides general support to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment. This onsite position focuses on daily cleaning tasks and collaborates with school staff to ensure hygiene standards are consistently met.

Key responsibilities

• Perform cleaning duties across classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
• Maintain hygiene standards in line with school policies.
• Monitor and report on cleaning supplies and equipment needs.
• Collaborate with teachers and administrative staff to address specific cleaning requirements.
• Identify and report any health, safety, or safeguarding concerns.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in cleaning or janitorial roles.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and operate cleaning equipment safely.
• Commitment to safeguarding children and adhering to health & safety protocols.

Required skills

• Strong cleaning and organizational abilities.
• Attention to detail and thoroughness.
• Knowledge of cleaning best practices and equipment operation.
