Safety and Disaster Manager

About the role

Assystem is seeking an experienced Safety and Disaster Manager to lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of Project Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE/HSE) plans for water supply and related infrastructure projects. The role ensures compliance with statutory regulations and promotes a safe working environment across all sites.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Project SHE/HSE plan in line with DJB requirements and statutory regulations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws such as the Factory Act, BOCW Act, IS Codes, and local safety regulations.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Identify hazards related to excavation, trenching, confined spaces, pipeline works, lifting operations, and traffic management.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices at all project sites.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with safety standards.

Required profile

• Graduate degree with at least 15 years of overall experience, including 5 years in water supply or similar projects.
• Strong knowledge of safety legislation, standards, and best practices.
• Expertise in disaster management and emergency response planning.
• Leadership ability to enforce safety compliance.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively during emergencies.
