Research Associate (AI & Data Science)

About the role

The Indian School of Business is seeking a motivated Research Associate to work with Professor Sumeet Kumar on projects that apply Artificial Intelligence to business and societal challenges. The role involves hands‑on research using generative AI, data science, and machine learning techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Develop machine‑learning models to analyze unstructured language and video data.
• Collect, clean, and process large‑scale language and video datasets.
• Use platforms such as Amazon Mechanical Turk for data labeling.
• Conduct literature reviews across computer science, information systems, and economics.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including academic schools.

Required profile

• Strong academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, Social Sciences or related fields.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative performance.
• Proven written and oral communication skills, with evidence of academic writing.
• Ability to work independently, manage tight deadlines, and multitask.

Required skills

• Machine Learning concepts and techniques.
• Programming in Python.
• Understanding of econometric methods (preferred).
