Remote Corporate & M&A Attorney (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Corporate/M&A Attorney to join a leading AI‑focused client on a contract basis. Working remotely, you will apply your legal expertise to review and annotate corporate, merger, and financial documents, ensuring they meet strict compliance and data‑privacy standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and annotate corporate, M&A, and financial documents for regulatory compliance.
• Identify and mitigate personally identifiable information (PII) exposure risks, documenting anonymization best practices.
• Provide guidance on structural identifiability to balance compliance with data utility for AI training.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop training materials reflecting current legal frameworks.
• Maintain detailed documentation of compliance measures for audit and review purposes.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate law, M&A, or financial services with a focus on compliance and data privacy.
• Strong knowledge of PII risks, anonymization techniques, and regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting best practices and guiding non‑legal stakeholders.
