About the role

Visva‑Bharati University, an institution of National Importance established by the Parliament of India in 1951, is inviting applications from Indian nationals for regular faculty positions. The recruitment covers Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor and Assistant Librarian posts across a wide range of academic and library disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the assigned subject area.
• Conduct scholarly research and publish findings in reputable journals.
• Participate in curriculum development, academic committees and departmental administration.
• Supervise student projects, theses and dissertations.
• For librarian posts, manage library operations, information services and resource acquisition.

Required profile

• Indian nationality as per UGC recruitment guidelines.
• Relevant academic qualifications (typically a Ph.D. for Professor/Associate Professor, Master's with NET/SET for Assistant Professor).
• Eligibility under the specified reservation category (UR, OBC, EWS, SC, ST) for each post.
• Demonstrated expertise in the specific discipline listed for the vacancy.
