Registered Nurse – Mental Health & Home Care

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care to patients across mental health, developmental disabilities, youth services, and home health settings. The role involves direct patient interaction, interdisciplinary collaboration, and adherence to regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Gather detailed information on patients' psychological, physiological, cultural, nutritional, and spiritual status through interviews with patients, families, and case managers.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement person‑centered care plans.
• Design and deliver educational plans to maximize health benefits for patients.
• Ensure patient safety by managing medication storage, reconciliation, administration, and compliance monitoring.
• Document assessments, interventions, and changes in patient condition promptly, within 24 hours.
• Stay current with state and federal nursing regulations, especially in behavioral health, developmental disabilities, youth services, and home care.
• Provide follow‑up feedback to patients and communicate medication responses to physicians or nurse practitioners.
• Advocate for patients, support HIPAA compliance, and assist in policy development for the psychology department.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of 2 years recent nursing experience in relevant areas such as mental/behavioral health, developmental disability, youth/adolescent services, elderly care, or home care.
• Current RN licensure in Washington, DC.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record systems, preferably iCams or Credible.
