Rebar Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Rebar Engineer to join our construction team, reporting to the Casting Yard Project Manager. The role focuses on the fabrication and management of reinforcement cages for concrete segments, ensuring safety, quality, and efficient material use.

Key responsibilities

• Cutting, bending and tying reinforcement cages according to approved drawings.
• Preparing Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) based on approved designs.
• Optimizing scrap and off‑cut material to minimise waste.
• Ensuring safe working conditions and compliance with safety procedures for all personnel and equipment.
• Maintaining quality standards at every stage of reinforcement fabrication.
• Submitting monthly steel requirements to the Construction Manager.
• Coordinating shift engineers and liaising with internal and external engineering representatives.
• Preparing and submitting Requests for Information (RFI) as required.
• Performing monthly rebar reconciliation with external departments.

Required profile

• Proven experience in reinforcement cage fabrication (cutting, bending, tying).
• Familiarity with Bar Bending Schedule preparation and interpretation of engineering drawings.
• Ability to work under the supervision of a Casting Yard Project Manager and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong attention to safety and quality standards on construction sites.
