Structural Steel Estimator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our dedicated Steel department at JMT Consultants Detailing Private Limited in Bangalore. The role involves preparing budgetary and final estimates for steel detailing projects and supporting project controls.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and/or assist in completing budgetary and final estimating of scopes of work
• Apply technical knowledge to support efficient estimating and cost‑effective solutions
• Responsible for detailed cost estimates and qualification development for bid proposals
• Perform detailed structural and miscellaneous take‑offs
• Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and architects during estimate creation to ensure overall accuracy
• Assist with Project Controls (Schedule/Cost control)

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience specifically in estimating steel detailing projects
• Must be proficient with MS Office Suite (especially Excel), Bluebeam, and Tekla Structures
• Work experience in tilt‑up panel manufacturing facilities, and schools is an asset, but not required
• Must have experience in reading US design drawings
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required
• Critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills
