R&D Design Engineer – Sanitary Fittings

About the role

Join LIXIL India's R&D team as a Design Engineer focused on high‑quality sanitary fittings. You will transform innovative concepts into functional, cost‑effective products while ensuring seamless integration with global product architectures.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of new components and assemblies for sanitary fittings.
• Execute constructive design while balancing aesthetics, functionality, cost, and installation constraints.
• Generate creative concepts to drive product evolution.
• Maintain SAP master data, including Engineering Change Management, Material Master Data, and Bill of Materials.
• Ensure timely delivery of designs that meet functional specifications and fit the product architecture.
• Perform engineering calculations (strength, stiffness, mass) manually or with simulation tools.
• Collaborate closely with global R&D teams.

Required profile

• Professional experience in mechanical design, product development, or engineering operations within a manufacturing or R&D environment, preferably in sanitary or fluid‑handling.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing constraints, material properties, and cost‑to‑design principles.
• Proficiency in mechanical dimensioning, structural calculations, and simulations.
• High‑level English communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.

Required skills

• Solid experience with modern CAD systems (SolidEdge or Creo).
• Knowledge of CAE or other simulation tools.
• Expertise in SAP ERP – Engineering Change Management (ECM/ECN), Material Master Data, and BOM structures.
• Ability to perform manual or tool‑assisted engineering calculations.
