R&D Design Engineer

About the role

As an R&D Design Engineer on LIXIL's international team, you will drive the development of high‑quality sanitary fittings. You will translate concepts into functional, cost‑effective products while ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with project timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of innovative components and assemblies for sanitary fittings.
• Execute constructive design while balancing aesthetics, functionality, cost efficiency, and installation constraints.
• Generate creative concepts for new components and maintain SAP master data (ECM/ECN, Material Master, BOM).
• Perform engineering calculations to dimension parts, verifying strength, stiffness and mass.
• Collaborate closely with global R&D teams to ensure timely delivery and compliance with functional specifications.

Required profile

• Professional experience in mechanical design, product development or engineering operations within a manufacturing or R&D environment.
• Results‑driven mindset with strong commitment to meeting deadlines, functional requirements and quality standards.
• High‑level English proficiency and strong communication skills for collaboration with local and global stakeholders.

Required skills

• Solid experience with modern CAD systems such as SolidEdge or Creo.
• Proficiency in SAP ERP, specifically Engineering Change Management (ECM/ECN), Material Master Data and Bill of Materials.
• Ability to conduct mechanical dimensioning, structural calculations and simulations (strength, stiffness, mass).
• Knowledge of manufacturing constraints, material properties and cost‑to‑design principles.
