Quality Engineer

About the role

Derewala Industries Ltd. is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead its Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions across fine jewellery manufacturing. The role focuses on driving continuous improvement, ensuring product excellence, and maintaining compliance with international quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage QA/QC activities throughout the jewellery production process.
• Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems and SOPs.
• Conduct inspections at incoming, in‑process, and final stages.
• Monitor product quality across casting, filing, assembling, soldering, polishing, stone setting, finishing, and packing.
• Investigate quality issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and execute corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Analyze rejection, rework, repair, and customer complaint data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Establish quality checkpoints and inspection criteria for each production stage.
• Approve first‑off samples, pilot batches, and final product releases.
• Ensure jewellery dimensions, weight, finish, solder quality, stone alignment, and overall craftsmanship meet specifications.
• Train production and quality teams on inspection standards and defect prevention.

Required profile

• 5‑6 years of experience in jewellery manufacturing.
• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, Metallurgy, Quality Management, or a related field.
• Preferred certifications: Quality Management, Six Sigma, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor.
• Jewellery manufacturing or Gemology certification is an advantage.
• Proven leadership abilities.
