Quality Control Officer – Paint Laboratory

About the role

We are seeking a Quality Control Officer to join our paint laboratory at Axalta’s Savli facility. The role ensures that all raw materials, intermediates and finished products meet customer specifications and industry standards before release.

Key responsibilities

• Test and approve received raw materials, intermediates and finished goods according to customer specifications and national/international standards.
• Issue test reports in the defined format and manage re‑validation of expired materials.
• Maintain calibration of all laboratory equipment and ensure availability of standard panels and reference samples.
• Perform trend analysis of test results, communicate material rejections to the sourcing team, and support complaint and QIR investigations.
• Participate in root‑cause‑failure‑analysis meetings and assist QA in closing complaints.
• Record and analyse non‑conformities and ensure compliance with IATF 16949:2016 and ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer, Paint Technology or a related chemical field.
• 1‑5 years of experience in the chemical or paint manufacturing industry.
• Familiarity with quality management systems, audits and standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO/IEC 17025.
• Strong attention to detail, good communication skills and proficiency in English (written and spoken).

• Calibration of measuring equipment and internal verification checks.
• Application of the basic 7 QC tools.
• Paint testing methods and chemical analysis techniques.
