Purchase Executive – Procurement for Centrifugal Pump Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a Purchase Executive to manage the procurement of raw materials, castings, forgings, machined components, electrical items, and other engineering supplies for a centrifugal pump manufacturing operation. The role ensures timely delivery, quality compliance, and cost‑effective sourcing while collaborating closely with production, stores, quality, and planning teams.

Key responsibilities

• Source and procure materials required for centrifugal pump manufacturing, including castings, forgings, shafts, sleeves, impellers, bearings, mechanical seals, gaskets, fasteners, electric motors, valves, pipes, fittings, and raw steel.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors; obtain quotations, negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders, follow up on deliveries, and ensure on‑time receipt of goods.
• Maintain procurement records, vendor database, and documentation; evaluate vendor performance on quality, cost, and delivery.
• Monitor inventory levels, coordinate with stores for replenishment, and manage non‑moving or excess inventory.
• Support audits by maintaining proper purchase documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and ISO standards.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of purchasing experience in centrifugal pump, valve, or heavy engineering manufacturing.
• Certification in Supply Chain or Procurement is an advantage.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities, with the capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Knowledge of centrifugal pump components and engineering materials.
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Tally ERP, or Busy.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with ISO documentation and procurement compliance.
