Project Manager – Civil & Structural Works (Rail, Soil, Rock)

About the role

The Project Manager is responsible for delivering civil and structural works inside an active brownfield smelter environment. The role requires close coordination with operating units, rail operations, and live utilities while maintaining safety and production continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute civil and structural works, including area grading, rock cutting, blasting, and soil stabilization, within live smelter facilities.
• Manage interfaces with pot room, carbon, cast house, rail corridors, and logistics yards.
• Liaise with government and statutory authorities to secure permits, inspections, and land‑use approvals.
• Develop and control project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and safety compliance.
• Coordinate sequencing of earthworks and rail works around ongoing operations to protect metal flow and logistics continuity.
• Lead stakeholder management with community groups, rail authorities, engineering consultants, contractors, and internal safety functions.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale civil/structural projects in industrial or mining environments.
• Strong ability to interpret complex execution challenges and make decisions under live operating conditions.
• Excellent stakeholder and regulatory liaison skills.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to high safety standards.
