Program Officer – Urban Health

About the role

PATH is seeking a Program Officer to lead urban health surveillance initiatives in Patna. The role provides technical leadership for planning, implementing, and ensuring quality of surveillance activities across urban and peri‑urban areas.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning, implementation, and monitoring of urban and peri‑urban disease surveillance strengthening in alignment with state and national priorities.
• Lead GIS‑based mapping and spatial analysis of surveillance data, including hotspot identification, facility mapping, and catchment area delineation.
• Contribute to the development and execution of City Action Plans, ensuring city‑specific priorities are captured and tracked.
• Facilitate facility‑level IHIP reporting and provide technical guidance to improve surveillance performance.
• Conduct supply chain assessments at designated facilities and support multisectoral coordination with municipal health teams, MSU staff, and CPMU.
• Supervise the Program Coordinator and support the City Lead in delivering technical outputs related to surveillance, GIS, and health system integration.

Required profile

• Demonstrated technical leadership in public health or disease surveillance projects.
• Experience working with municipal health authorities and multisectoral partners.
• Ability to supervise staff and coordinate city‑level health initiatives.

Required skills
