Professor – Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB‑GYN)

About the role

The Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology provides senior academic leadership, delivers high‑quality medical education, and oversees expert clinical care. This position trains undergraduate, postgraduate and resident doctors while managing complex obstetric and gynecological cases.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver core lectures, clinical demonstrations and advanced workshops in obstetrics, gynecology, maternal‑fetal medicine and reproductive health.
• Mentor and assess MBBS students, MD/MS/DNB residents and fellows; supervise thesis work and research projects.
• Provide expert outpatient and inpatient care, including high‑risk pregnancy management, emergency obstetric services and specialized gynecology clinics.
• Perform and train junior doctors in major and minor gynecological surgeries, laparoscopic and open procedures.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, departmental administration and quality‑assurance activities.
• Lead clinical research, publish in peer‑reviewed journals and present findings at national and international conferences.

Required profile

• MD, MS or DNB in Obstetrics & Gynecology from an accredited institution; MBBS required.
• Valid medical council registration with clinical practice privileges.
• Teaching experience meeting national medical council guidelines for a Professor rank.
• Extensive record of research publications and academic contributions.
