Production Engineer – Cutting Tools Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for a Production Engineer to join our high‑tech cutting‑tool manufacturing team in India. You will drive the production of solid carbide, indexable and special purpose tools, ensuring we meet quality, cost and delivery targets while supporting innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute production activities for solid carbide and indexable tools.
• Monitor and optimise CNC grinding, edge preparation, coating, inspection and packaging processes.
• Ensure adherence to schedules, quality standards, delivery commitments and cost objectives.
• Analyse machine utilisation, cycle times, productivity and OEE, implementing improvements.
• Collaborate with Design, Quality, Maintenance, Planning and Supply Chain to maintain smooth production flow.
• Validate new product introductions and establish production standards.
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical, Production or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 5‑8 years of experience in cutting‑tool manufacturing, CNC grinding or precision machining.
• Strong knowledge of solid carbide tools, end mills, drills, reamers, taps and indexable tools.

Required skills

• CNC tool & cutter grinding machines (Surface, WALTER, Rollomatic or equivalents).
• Metal‑cutting principles, tool geometry, carbide grades and grinding processes.
• Production planning, capacity utilisation and shop‑floor management.
• Statistical Process Control (SPC), GD&T, root‑cause analysis and continuous‑improvement methods.
