Product Costing Analyst

About the role

The Product Costing Analyst will analyze inventory data and provide actionable insights to mitigate significant impacts on product costs for business units. You will be part of BASF's new Global Hub in India, working within a globally integrated finance and HR team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform monthly valuation of inventories at standard and actual cost according to the month‑end schedule.
• Analyze monthly variations between actual cost, standard cost, and production orders.
• Support the definition and maintenance of the annual operating plan, including fixed production costs and variable rates.
• Execute inventory valuation adjustments and calculate provisions for low turnover, net realizable value, or replacement price.
• Communicate process deliverables to keep stakeholders informed on progress, issues, and resolutions.
• Implement continuous‑improvement initiatives using new technologies and systems, supporting the horizontal team.

Required profile

• Graduates in Public Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related fields.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in cost analysis or inventory valuation.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, fast‑paced global environment.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
