Procurement Operations Specialist

About the role

The Procurement Operations Specialist is responsible for managing the end‑to‑end purchase order (PO) lifecycle, ensuring compliance with internal controls and service level agreements. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and vendors to guarantee accurate, timely, and auditable procurement transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Convert approved purchase requisitions into compliant PO’s within defined SLAs, validating specifications, pricing, budgets and delivery timelines.
• Issue PO’s to vendors, obtain acknowledgments, track confirmations and proactively follow up on pending orders.
• Maintain vendor master data, address queries, amendments and PO‑related disputes.
• Enter PO data accurately in ERP systems, monitor the PO lifecycle, reconcile open PO reports and support month/quarter‑end closing.
• Resolve three‑way match discrepancies (PO‑GRN‑Invoice) with AP and vendors, manage PO amendments with proper approvals.
• Prepare PO status, open liability and compliance reports, identify process gaps and support automation initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs and assist in training team members.

Required profile

• BE/BTech degree (mandatory); Master’s degree preferred.
• Significant hands‑on experience in Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) environments.
• Proven track record managing high‑volume PO lifecycles in corporate or shared‑services settings.
• Experience with three‑way matching, vendor management and financial controls.
