Procurement Officer

About the role

The Procurement Officer will support the Procurement Manager in ensuring that all purchasing activities comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, and technical specifications specific to pharmaceutical formulation manufacturing. The role focuses on Indian suppliers, handling RFQs, vendor evaluation, and purchase order execution.

Key responsibilities

• Issue RFQs to qualified Indian suppliers, clarify offers, and maintain archived records.
• Assist the Quality Department with product identification, alternative sourcing, and coordination.
• Maintain a vendor database with pricing information for review by the Procurement Director and Category Manager.
• Prepare price estimates for budgeting and generate purchase orders through the ERP system.
• Conduct desktop evaluations and on‑site audits of existing and potential suppliers.
• Support inbound procurement staff with purchase order execution.

Required profile

• Graduate degree with at least 6 years of procurement experience in a commercial environment, preferably in pharmaceutical formulation or healthcare manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of sourcing practices, pharmaceutical regulations, certifications, and quality requirements.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in an international, multicultural setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft AX.
• Advanced use of the Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience using ERP systems for procurement processes.
