Procurement Assistant Manager

About the role

The Assistant Manager Purchase plays a pivotal role in managing and streamlining the entire procurement process, ensuring timely and cost‑effective acquisition of goods while maintaining compliance with company policies and legal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end procurement by creating, reviewing and approving purchase orders.
• Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships to negotiate prices, delivery schedules and terms.
• Conduct market research and cost analysis to identify new suppliers and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Oversee inventory management systems to track stock levels and forecast demand.
• Lead and mentor a team of five purchasing specialists, setting performance goals and providing training.
• Implement purchase automation tools to streamline workflows and reduce errors.
• Collaborate with warehouse, sales and finance departments to align purchasing with organizational needs.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality or contract compliance.
• Prepare regular reports on purchasing metrics, budget utilization and supplier performance for senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Strong analytical skills for cost analysis and demand forecasting.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with warehouse, sales and finance teams.
• Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements affecting procurement.
