Private Equity News Analyst (Junior)

About the role

Gain is looking for a Junior Private Equity News Analyst to join its Private Equity Intelligence team in Bangalore. You will help monitor and analyse financial news, press releases and market data to surface new M&A transactions and ownership changes.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor financial news sources, company press releases and market data to identify new M&A transactions and ownership changes, initially focusing on the US.
• Track, research and validate M&A deals, VC fund raises, PE buyouts and strategic acquisitions.
• Accurately input and analyse deal information in Gain’s platform, ensuring high data quality and consistency.
• Conduct routine checks to maintain data accuracy and timely updates.
• Support initiatives to improve workflow processes and efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with experienced Private Equity Intelligence News Associates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business or a quantitative discipline.
• Internship or at least six months of experience in news and research using financial database platforms.
• Strong interest in private equity and investment banking and appreciation for in‑depth investment research.
• Excellent communication skills and a bias toward action.

Required skills

• Experience with financial database platforms such as Pitchbook, Preqin, FactSet, Bloomberg and Capital IQ.
