Privacy Compliance Program Specialist

About the role

The Privacy Compliance Program Specialist will join the Global Legal Service Center to support 3M’s worldwide privacy compliance program. Reporting to the GLSC Site Manager, the role works closely with the Privacy Compliance Manager and Director to ensure operational privacy risk management across the enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Support continuous improvement of the enterprise‑wide privacy compliance program.
• Process data subject requests within defined SLAs and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct privacy risk assessments, cross‑border data transfer assessments, and DPIAs.
• Maintain the personal data inventory, lineage, and records of processing activities (RoPAs).
• Participate in privacy‑related operational excellence and compliance projects under management oversight.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law or a related field with strong academic credentials.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in data‑privacy program management or related compliance functions.
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate with cross‑functional teams and key stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, communication, and project‑management skills.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of global privacy regulations (EU GDPR, Brazil LGPD, China PIPL, CCPA, NIST Privacy Framework).
• Experience with privacy‑risk assessments, DPIAs, and RoPA documentation.
• Familiarity with privacy GRC platforms such as TrustArc, OneTrust, or Securiti.
• Ability to analyze systems for privacy compliance concerns and manage associated risks.
