Portfolio Management Analyst – Indirect Procurement

About the role

The Portfolio Management Analyst – Indirect Procurement supports BASF’s procurement operations for a portfolio of indirect categories. Reporting to the Cluster Senior, the analyst acts as the primary contact for medium‑complexity business units, ensuring efficient end‑to‑end P2P execution and contract governance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver indirect goods and services in line with global P2P processes and procurement guidelines.
• Conduct regular portfolio reviews with Category Buyers and manage contracts, suppliers, and procurement activities.
• Support business partners in creating, tracking, and confirming purchase orders while ensuring policy compliance.
• Create, maintain, and monitor contracts and agreements in collaboration with Category Buyers.
• Analyze KPIs, identify improvement opportunities, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, and business stakeholders to ensure timely supplier payments.
• Provide operational support to Category Buyers and serve as the first point of contact for procurement queries.
• Participate in projects, audits, transitions, and knowledge‑sharing activities as required.

Required profile

• Degree in International Affairs, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in similar procurement positions.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, fast‑paced global environment.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
