Plumbing Lead Engineer

About the role

The Plumbing Lead Engineer will join an integrated, multi‑discipline architecture/engineering team to lead the design of complex plumbing systems for US‑based life‑science, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, and advanced technology projects. The role involves full‑cycle design, from concept through construction support, ensuring compliance with regional codes and sustainable design standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all design phases (conceptual, schematic, design development, construction documents) for plumbing systems within multi‑discipline projects.
• Integrate plumbing layouts with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and process engineering disciplines.
• Perform hydraulic calculations for water supply, sewerage, stormwater, and specialized industrial water systems.
• Prepare specifications and material/equipment selections, including sustainable solutions such as grey‑water recycling and rain‑water harvesting.
• Conduct quality reviews of 2D/3D models to ensure code compliance (IPC, UPC, NSPC, NFPA, ASME, ANSI/ASSE) and alignment with LEED, WELL, and ASHRAE standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with clients, contractors, and vendors.
• Manage multiple project scopes, budgets, and schedules to deliver on time and within budget.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of plumbing system design experience, including at least 4 years leading complex industrial projects.
• Extensive experience with US projects and regional plumbing code compliance.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
