Plant Head – Manufacturing Operations Leader

About the role

The Plant Head will lead all plant functions, driving strategic planning, resource management and continuous improvement across production, maintenance, stores, purchase, utilities and support services. Reporting directly to the Managing Director of India, the role ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance and a safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control and logistics.
• Develop and execute plans to meet production targets while optimizing cost efficiency.
• Ensure strict adherence to local laws, environmental, health and safety regulations.
• Lead, motivate and develop a diverse team of supervisors, engineers, technicians and operators.
• Manage manpower, equipment and material resources effectively.
• Collaborate with senior management and external suppliers to align plant performance with company goals.
• Control plant budget, monitor expenditures and drive financial performance.
• Handle crisis situations promptly to minimise operational impact.

Required profile

• 12–20 years of experience in textile, chemical, cement, paper or similar manufacturing environments.
• Proven senior operations or production leadership in a comparable organization.
• Preference for candidates with experience in Gujarat and exposure to export operations.
• Demonstrated ability to create SOPs, design processes and formulate long‑term strategies while remaining hands‑on.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
