Pharmacist – Prescription Filling & Customer Service

About the role

The pharmacist will work at a retail pharmacy counter, handling doctor prescriptions, dispensing medication, and providing health counseling to patients. The role combines clinical responsibilities with customer service, inventory control, and sales targets.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to doctor prescriptions at the sales counter and advise patients on dosage.
• Dispense drugs according to prescriptions; arrange unavailable medicines from in‑house pharmacies.
• Consult doctors for any medicine substitution and cross‑check prescriptions with billing details.
• Counsel patients on medication use, side‑effects, and health concerns.
• Maintain relationships with customers and doctors, and manage free home‑delivery orders.
• Handle inbound calls related to drug information, patient counseling, and delivery coordination.
• Process cash transactions and prepare computerized bills.
• Store temperature‑sensitive drugs following cold‑chain protocols.
• Enter stock data into the inventory system, verify quantities, batch numbers, and expiry dates.
• Conduct twice‑weekly physical stock counts across all categories and perform daily rack‑wise verification of fast‑moving items.
• Ensure proper shift hand‑over and work toward pharmacy sales targets.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the in‑charge.

Required profile

• Qualified pharmacist with a valid license.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing and billing.
• Excellent communication skills for patient counseling and doctor interaction.
• Ability to manage cash and handle inventory records.
• Willingness to work on‑site in a fast‑paced pharmacy environment.
