Payments Risk Analyst II

About the role

Coinbase is hiring a Payments Risk Analyst II, a full-time position focused on identifying and mitigating payments fraud risks such as chargebacks, ACH returns, wire disputes and account takeovers. The company describes itself as remote-first but expects quarterly in-person working sessions called surges.

Key responsibilities

• Review escalated customer accounts in detail to identify and mitigate payments fraud risks.
• Analyse fraud trends and patterns in payment activity and give actionable insights to Payments Risk management.
• Work with the Payments Risk investigations team to give feedback on rule performance and risk logic.
• Help develop and document review processes and point out workflow inefficiencies to reduce risk exposure.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy and timeliness in fraud investigations and risk assessments.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in payments risk, fraud analysis or risk operations within financial services or e-commerce.
• BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent analytical and investigative skills, with strong written and spoken English.
• Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, in-office environment and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to fighting fraud.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of payments systems, fraud detection methods and risk mitigation strategies.
• Ability to use generative AI tools and copilots responsibly, with human-in-the-loop practice.
• Nice to have: knowledge of blockchain analytics and cryptocurrency fraud trends, and familiarity with payments risk tools.

The stated annual base salary range is ₹860,050 to ₹860,050 INR; total compensation may also include bonus eligibility and benefits such as medical, dental and vision coverage.
