Finance Officer - GIFT City

About the role

The Finance Officer is responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations of a new IFSC reinsurance branch at the start, helping to build its accounting functions. The role works closely with the Finance Manager and the Singapore Head Office finance team to keep the books accurate, payments and tax deposits on time, and records ready for audit.

Key responsibilities

• Book vendor invoices, expense claims and service bills, check them against purchase orders and contracts, calculate TDS, verify GST input credit eligibility and run vendor payments
• Follow up with cedants and brokers on outstanding balances, raise tax invoices with GST where applicable and support credit control
• Prepare challans for TDS, GST and advance tax, prepare data for GST and TDS returns and annual filings, and reconcile GST input credit with GSTR-2B and TDS with Form 26AS/TRACES
• Run day-to-day banking for USD and INR accounts, prepare daily cash positions and bank reconciliations, and support fixed-deposit documentation
• Post month-end journal entries, accruals, provisions and intercompany transactions, maintain the fixed asset register and prepare management account schedules
• Provide payroll inputs, process statutory deductions such as PF and professional tax, and support statutory, tax and internal audits
• Prepare documents for SEZ/IFSC compliance filings such as the Monthly and Annual Performance Reports

Required profile

• B.Com / M.Com; CA Inter, semi-qualified CA or MBA (Finance) preferred
• 2 to 6 years of hands-on accounting experience (AP/AR, tax payments, banking and reconciliations)
• Insurance/reinsurance or financial services experience preferred; GIFT City/IFSC or SEZ exposure is an advantage
• Good communication, accuracy, attention to detail and ability to work independently in a new branch

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Indian GST and TDS and the related compliance portals
• Accounting software or ERP experience and strong MS Excel skills
