Part‑time Receptionist – York Sports Village

About the role

We are looking for a friendly, professional Receptionist to join York Commercial Ltd on the University of York campus. Working part‑time, you will be the first point of contact for visitors and customers at York Sports Village, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and direct visitors, students and customers in a courteous manner.
• Answer, screen and forward telephone calls using the reception phone system.
• Manage incoming and outgoing mail and parcels.
• Maintain a tidy reception area and ensure relevant information is displayed.
• Provide basic administrative support such as booking rooms and handling enquiries.

Required profile

• Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths, grade C or above.
• Enthusiastic, self‑motivated with a positive outlook.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a customer‑focused environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using standard office equipment (telephone, computer, printer).

What we offer

• £26,334.82 per year (pro‑rated) – £13.65 per hour.
• 18.5 hours per week on a rolling shift pattern (alternating mornings and evenings, Monday‑Friday).
