Part‑time Dietary Aide – Senior Care Facility

About the role

We are looking for a part‑time Dietary Aide to join the culinary team at Stoneridge Manor, a senior‑care residence. Reporting to the Director of Culinary Services, you will help prepare, serve and clean up meals for residents and guests while ensuring a safe and welcoming dining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist with set‑up and preparation of beverages, salads, desserts and other items.
• Set and clear dining tables and provide tray service as required.
• Clean dishware and cutlery after each seating.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas.
• Support catering and participate in special occasions and themed events.
• Help orient and train new dietary employees.
• Follow health and safety legislation, provincial regulations and department policies.
• Respect Resident Rights & Responsibilities and promote them.
• Attend in‑service training, staff meetings and quality improvement programs.
• Work in a position of trust with vulnerable adults.
• Uphold the organization’s values and code of conduct.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Valid Food Handler’s Certificate.
• Previous experience in food service, especially with seniors, is preferred.
• Enrollment in or completion of a Food Service Worker Training Program.
• Excellent customer service orientation.
• Physical ability to lift heavy, hot items and stand/walk for most of the shift.
• Current vulnerable sector check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Proficiency in a second language is an asset.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
