On Site Service Technician - Level II

About the role

The Engine Field Service Technician provides on‑site technical support for Cummins engines, aftertreatment systems, generators and construction equipment, ensuring rapid diagnosis, repair and high customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair Cummins engines, aftertreatment systems (ATS), generators and construction equipment at customer locations.
• Perform vehicle‑level analysis of engine, turbocharger, fuel, electronic control and aftertreatment systems using approved procedures.
• Utilize electronic diagnostic tools such as INSITE and other Cummins service applications to identify faults and validate repairs.
• Conduct component teardown, inspection, failure analysis, rebuilding and assembly of turbochargers, dosing systems and fuel systems.
• Respond promptly to field failures, technical concerns and product performance issues, ensuring timely resolution.
• Handle warranty cases, perform technical evaluations and maintain accurate documentation.
• Dispatch failed components to manufacturing plants for detailed analysis and keep service records in systems like ePIR.
• Provide aftermarket technical support and deliver training programs for OEMs, dealers and customer personnel.

Required profile

• Proven experience in field service or maintenance of diesel engines and related systems.
• Ability to travel to customer sites and work independently on‑site.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
• Willingness to document work accurately and follow safety, health and environmental procedures.
