Nurse In Charge – Emergency Department

About the role

Star Hospitals is seeking an experienced Nurse In Charge for its Emergency Department in Nanakramguda, Hyderabad. The role demands rapid decision‑making, team leadership and the ability to maintain high‑quality patient care in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the nursing team during high‑volume periods, ensuring efficient patient flow.
• Monitor patient stability and intervene promptly when conditions change.
• Implement and uphold clinical protocols, escalation pathways and infection‑control measures.
• Collaborate with emergency physicians, consultants and support staff to deliver evidence‑based care.
• Mentor junior nurses, promote continuous learning and support a culture of safety.

Required profile

• GNM, BSc Nursing or MSc Nursing qualification.
• Minimum 6 years of nursing experience, with significant exposure to emergency care.
• Proven ability to lead a multidisciplinary team in a high‑stress setting.
• Strong understanding of NABH accreditation requirements.

Required skills

• Knowledge of NABH accreditation standards.
